Ever wondered how to make those special brownies? It’s actually pretty easy, Flower can be infused into butter, oil, or any other fats and used in your favorite brownie, cookie, or savory recipes.
Quick Tips for Infusing…Butter! (Just an example, oils work too!)
Start by baking your flower - spread it on parchment paper or tinfoil and make a little ‘pouch’ and place on a baking sheet - just remember to keep the flower spread out for an even bake. Bake for ~35-40 minutes in a 245-degree oven (or try the mason jar approach or crockpot approach - a quick google will give you some instructions).
Once the flower is cooled, break it up with your fingers or use a cannabis grinder - this is what you’ll add to your butter.
A good basic recipe is a 1 gram of flower, 1/4 of water and 1/2 - 1 c. of butter to start. Melt the butter and water together and add the cannabis once melted - let the mixture simmer for 45 minutes to an hour in a saucepan. Keep the temperature under 190-degrees, and remember that short cook times will result in lower potency, and longer times will create higher potency up to a point (but we think the best flavor is after 45-60 minutes)
Before the cannabutter cools, use a strainer to remove the cannabis flower from your butter and discard.
Place the strained cannabutter in a container and let cool. Once the butter is solid pour the water off before storing in an air tight container in your refrigerator. Your cannabutter is ready to use in your favorite recipe!
Remember, start slow and small…different strains and cook times can affect potencies! You can mix non-infused butter with cannabutter in any ratio for your recipes.
Your infused butter should be good for 1-2 weeks!
